The Customer
Bank Leumi is one of Israel’s largest banks.
The Challenge
Bank Leumi wanted to install Digital Signage screens in its 170 branches to inform and entertain its customers with high quality real-time images of foreign exchange rates and the latest bank promotions. This would be one of the biggest installations in Israel.
The Minicom Solution
TVeez, a retail technology specialist who provides proactive sales and marketing management for the digital signage industry, won the tender after submitting a solution based around the Audio Video Display System (AVDS). Variety is ensured with two broadcasters providing two channels with differing content. The display is clean and effective and the bank was immediately sold on the system’s quality and effectiveness. It has the ability to deliver real-time crystal clear content to distances of up to 110m/360ft from the player. This solution allows the player to be located in a secure back-room. From player to screen, the $12 million installation, is entirely hardware-based and network independent.
The Benefits
This technology helps maintain the image of Bank Leumi as one of the world’s leading banks. Customers are impressed by the real-time multimedia content. “This has considerably upgraded the level of communication and interaction between the bank and our customers,” said Uri Cochlan, Head of Marketing and Communication for Bank Leumi. “The atmosphere in the bank has significantly improved and provides for a superior in-branch experience for our customers.”

The growing use of digital advertising to replace traditional signs and electronic billboards has pushed up demand for advanced audio/video distribution technologies. An innovator in Quality-Over-CAT5 technology, Minicom answers this growing demand with a wide range of flexible, high-quality video distribution systems, extenders, and splitters for real time, out-of-band distribution of rich content from player to plasmas, LCDs, and other electronic signs.
Minicom hardware distribution systems transmit high-resolution video, high quality audio, and bidirectional Serial communication. Content is narrowcast from a player or video server to multiple digital displays over CAT5 cable. Low density CAT5 cabling makes it possible to extend displays up to 600m/2000ft away from the player. Delivery of rich, dynamic content over CAT5 is the most stable and reliable way to ensure real time display to multiple screens.
Minicom hardware systems provide the performance and flexibility you need for real-time, high-resolution, high performance dynamic digital displays. Minicom distribution systems help you control the costs of your digital signage installation. Since you don't need computing power at the viewer, the more viewers you install, the more money you save.
Minicom digital signage systems are installed in thousands of supermarkets, retailers, subways, banks, airports, bars, schools, and government offices around the world.
